Debbie, Rita Bettencourt was married to Manuel George in Monterey, CA. on Aug. 22, 1878. The record of the marriage says they were both born in Fayal, Azores. She died in Monterey in 1901. I have some information on their children too. I would like to find siblings, parents or what ever you might have to offer about Bettencourt family in Monterey.
I found a 1900 census showing the family (George) living in the Oak Grove area. That census says she was born in Oct 1857.
If you could tell me about your Bettencourt family in Monterey we might be able to make a connection.
