wow! I just stumbled into this! My father Joao Estevao de Sousa Bettencourt was born in Beira Sao Jorge in 1943 and immigrated to Canada in 1972. My Mother also born there in 1946. Where are you getting all this past information from? The only info I have is what my maternal grandmother can remember. So I have only been able to trace my family tree to my grand parents level. She is also a Bettencourt. Marianna De Sousa Bettencourt Oliveira. Oliveira being her married name.
If you can forward me the contact you are using to dig up these records I would really appreciate it.
