Hi, Aileen. Your Janet Bethune is a younger sister of my
ggrandmother, Catharine Bethune, b 2 NOV 1837, Ceres,Fife.
Janet's daughter,Margaret Blair Laing(Lang), was named for her grandmother,Janet's mother,Margaret Blair. Margaret Blair marries John Bethune, 2 DEC 1837, Largo,Fife. Margt. Blair's family was probably in Largo at that time. John Bethune & Margt. Blair's family is as follows: Catharine(1837),Janet(1840),William(1842),James(1844),Robert(1847),& Margaret(1851).
Catharine married John Ewan, 26 NOV 1867, in Cameron,Fife
Janet married William Laing(Lang), 1868
Robert married Margaret Paul, 19 NOV 1869,in Logie,Perth
I think John Bethune's parents are William Bethune & Janet Skinner, based on Bethune children's names, & location
