I am looking for information on Wm Lauchlin BETHUNE's wife, Eva Birety McFADYEN. Eva's middle name was apparently derived from her grandmother Brysatto (or Bricetty), wife of James PARKER. I have not been able to determine Brysatto's maiden name though I "know" from her daughter Emma Parker McFADYEN's death certificate that it began with an E. The rest of the name is illegible on the DC.
One would think that with the name Brysatto to work with, it would be easy to trace this person to a family by going through the census line by line until you found them. I have tried this in three NC counties and failed. I now suspect her full name may have been Eva Brysatto (or what ever that name is - I have three variations of it in three different censuses of Cumberland and Robeson Counties in 1860, 1870 and 1880.)
Any info on Eva Birety McFadyen BETHUNE of Raeford, NC would be greatly appreciated.
