Hi, I used to be an antique dealer, and in a house sale about 5 years ago, I purchased a cane , with ivory handle, and a silver plate, with the name Geo. Bethune Boston sept 20th 1859...and the ivory handle has his initials.. G.A. Bethune, and on the other side a great scrimshaw of a seal or otter.... and there is a silverish ring around the top with the name John M. Bethune... I am just curious on touching base with a family member, maybe exchanging some info, and pics if you want, and I may be selling it soon, so I thought maybe someone would like to at least see it first.. thank you bob
