I agree with you it's difficult figuring out Bethels, Russells and others from Hope Town.
I did get some info from the 1998 edition of the McAleer book. I do not have actual birth records on any Bethels.
My GGGrandmother Charlotte M. Bethel, Johnson, Russell is listed on page 9 marring Edward Russell. I have not been able to find a marriage document for Charlotte and Thomas Johnson or a death for Thomas Johnson. His parents was Nathan Johnson, b. 1791 in CT and Catherine, b. 1793.
The only photos I have are William Eldridge Johnson, my Ggrandfather and his sister Emily Ellen Johnson. No one seems to have any photos of Charlotte. I tried to contact Russells in KW but nothing so far.
Have you spoken with Linda Cole in Hope Town, she is in charge of the Museum and descends from the Bethel's. Her grand father was a Bethel from Cherokee Sound (his family originally from Harbour Island).
