I just put in a rambling post and then saw your inquiry.
My grandfather Daniel, who lived his adult life in Glens Falls, New York was the son of a man who migrated from Canada to Vermont (sorry I have so few specifics and no living sources anymore).
Daniel's parents had met and married in Canada and upon that event, his two brothers stopped speaking to him.The three brothers had arrived in Canada after serving in the British Army in Ireland and had arrived there from their home in Wales.
After the marriage, no more was ever known of the two brothers as no contact was ever re-established.Religion was the divise issue, the Welsh Daniel had married a Catholic.
I have often wondered about the two brothers, why the three brothers went to Canada instead of back to Wales and what they did for a living. My grandfather's family in Vermont were farmers.
