My husband is descended from James Bethel and Mary Brock through their son James S.(1836-1915)who married Lucinda Jenkins (1836-1914). James and Lucinda had a son Clemit Leroy Bethel (1863-1955) who married Minnie Viola Miller (1866-1910). Clemit and Minnie had a daughter Mary Quiteria Bethel (1893-1967) who married William Egbert Galloway. Mary Quiteria Bethel-Galloway was my husbands grandmother. Do you know if any pictures exist of James and Mary Brock-Bethel? I have a photograph of Clemit sitting in a rocking chair that belonged to his father James S.(1836-1915) that was rumored to have belonged to James and Mary Brock-Bethel. Also rumored is the chair sat on the front porch of a hotel owned by the Bethels. My husband now has the rocking chair. Also do you have any information regarding such a hotel? I am happy to scan and e-mail a picture of the rocking to chair to anyone interested.
