William Curry in addition to his 3 better known volumes
wrote another book: "Harlee's Kinfolks"-Marion County.
I read it at the Georgetown, S.C. library in the mid 90's.
It was in bad shape and when I looked for it in the year
2000, It had been disposed of. It told the complete story
of "Devil John" Bethea. The book was very important to me
because my mother's name was in it. I have searched all the librarys in the Dillon and Marion areas to no avail.
I am 68 years old and was born in an old farm house about a
mile from the Sweat Swamp Cemetary. My mother was a Bethea
and is buried in Little Rock, S.C.
I would love to find any of William Curry's books if
there are any to be found. We normally have annual reunions in Dillon, S.C. with James Bethea, my first cousin, in charge, however, I haven't been to one for a
couple years.
I would be delighted to hear from any of the Bethea
clan. My name is C.Doug Hayes Gaston, S.C. bonehayes1@yahoo.com
