Dear Ms Walker,
Concerning your inquiry of James W. Bethea, the only James W. that is listed in KINFOLKS, the definitive reference about Bethea genealogical history, was the second son of Clarence Philip Bethea and Emily Ann Wright born in Arkadelphia, Ark. on 13 Dec. 1878. On further reading, I see that James W. the first had a son, James W. by his second wife, Besse Stone. His dob is 1 Oct. 1914.
If these are your ancestors, they can be easily traced back to the very first Bethea's in this country.
