I am not directly related to the Bethea's but my GGG Grandfather Samuel Council was the youngest Brother to Mary Council who married Goodman Bethea. There are no Council's of the Sir name living from Henry Council's line. It has been very difficult to get any information on the Council family because of this fact. I am trying any collateral line that might have come across information on Capt. Henry Council, father of Mary(above), Samuel(Mine) who married Frances Hamer, Lucretia, who married Thomas Cochran, and William who married Rachel---- and then Rebecca Crawford,26 Feb, 1791 and died later that year. I would love to know the parents of Capt Henry Council and anything any one can tell me concerning Samuel Council. I know he appeares in his Father' will and is in the John Hicks Hamer family Bible as having married Frances Hamer(Dtr. of John Hamer V and Mary Hicks). Any help will certainly be appreciated. Bettye Carnahan.
