Bethea Family Genealogy Forum

The story of the French army officer is interesting. I though LaFayette fought in the Revolution. That would mean that it probably was a grandfather or great grandfather. Many Bethea's fought in the War of 1812 and most were from VA/NC/SC. All that I have found were descendants of John (English John) and John (Virginia John) his son. Many Bethea men moved west starting in the early 1800's.As far as the William & Mary story, that sounds interesting and should be easy to verify through the college archives. Let us know what you find. In the meantime, I will check for William, JC and Hanna Brown Bethea.
