The Bethea's that moved to Miss. usually followed a route that took them through Alabama. I can not find the county at this instance, but I know it is near Monroeville, AL.

Look at the nearby counties for the 1820 and 1830 census in AL. Most of these Betheas settled for a time before moving along. There is a place called Lower Peachtree along the Alabama River near a large bend and it's in the SW corner of the county you are looking for.

Wish I could help you more. I also looked in "The Ancestral Key to the Pee Dee", but found no Goodman that matched.

I would check the NC Cape Fear Betheas. They are not as well documented as the Buck Swamp and Sweat Swamp branches.
