Am looking for parents of my ggggrandfather, Goodman Bethea born somewhere in AL in 1827. He married Catherine Unknown, born 1830 in SC. Her maiden name may have been Hawkins. They had a son, John Chelsey Bethay, born Oct. 1856 somehwere in AL. This family was in Itawamba Co., by 1860 and is listed on the census there. Goodman and Catherine vanish. John Chesley Bethay and Laura Dutton, his wife are buried in Itawamba Co., in New Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery. Can anyone help me connect this Goodman with the correct parents. Goodman was such a common Bethea name that I can't seem to find a match.
