Totally news to me is the fact that John Bethea [(Virginia John) who settled in Nansemond Co. VA]

had 3 sons: 1.John 2.William and 3.Tristram; I'd thought from the old chart known as A CHART OF THE MALE DESCENT OF THE BETHEA FAMILY OF SOUTH CAROLINA and from other sources that there were only two sons: 1. John and 2. William and that this John Bethea [(Virginia John) who settled in Nansemond Co. VA] had a brother Tristram. This Tristram [son of English John] had 4 sons: James Jesse Elisha a nd William. I won't go on but would really like to hear more on this confusion before reentering my Betheas into Reunion 5 program... am going to post this elsewhere on message page to get more follow-up.
