Ii,ve been diging around my family name "Bethay" and found a link to it's root "Bethea"
the info I have comes from family stories about three brothers from S.C. that squabled over inharitance and split to the point of name changes the best aproximate time I have is early 1800s. If anyone has heard of this or has any info I would be greatfull
