STAFFORDSHIRE BESWICKS
Posted by: Denise Nash (ID *****6812) Date: May 31, 2002 at 14:32:15

My Great-grandmother, Alice Mary Beswick, was born 9th October 1866 at Alton Staffordshire. Daughter of John Beswick and Annie Mitchell. John was a stone mason. According to the 1871 census, Alice aged 4 is living with Robert and Margaret Fulton as their niece. In the same household are Alice Beswick aged 25, Margaret A. Beswick aged 6 both recorded as nieces. By 1881 Margaret is a widow and Alice is reorded as her A.daug. Margaret A. Beswick is no longer living in the household.
Alice Mary married Samuel Nash 29th June 1886 at Alton.
On their wedding certificate, John Beswick is deceased. I have found a marriage entry for Annie Beswick and John Knowles at Newbold and Dunstan in Derbyshire 30th October 1871. They had a son John Edward Knowles b. 22nd October 1871!! Was this Alices' mother does any body know?
Can anybody shed any light on any of this, PLEASE!!
