Joshua Best died on 9 January 1852 in Desoto Parish Louisiana and is buried in Old Hazelwood Cemetery in Desoto Parish Louisiana. This old cemetery is 159 years old and in very bad shape. Willie Best, W L Best, Maggie L Best, Mary Elizabeth Best, Joshua Best, Samuel R Best, and Curry Best are all buried in this cemetery. I am trying to get in touch with as many the descendants of Joshus Best as possible in hopes that they may be interested in joining with other descendants of families buried in Old Hazelwood who are involved in the restoration of Old Hazelwood Cemetery.
There is a book " The Families in Old Hazelwood Cemetery" which had a transcription of the people buried in Old Hazelwood, the history of the cemetery, information on some of the families and pictures of the cemetery as well as ancestor pictures of some of the families buried in Old Hazelwood Cemetery.
Joshua Best married Mary C Lewis. I would like to know more of the life of Joshua Best who I think was the son of Benedict Best and Sarah Bell. I would appreciate any information of Joshua Best and Mary C Lewis Best and Benedict Best and Sarah Bell Best.
