Can anyone help with the following Best and Hunt people??
James Hunt married Rhoda Best and was living in Ditcheat Somerset until 1940 when they emigrated to Australia
Charles Hunt married Ann Best (IN S.AUST) 1846 - they both arrived here in 1840, i assume Charles is James's brother and Ann is Rhodas sister.
George Hunt married Mary Best and they also came to Australia in 1840. I think George was another brother for Charles and James and Mary was a sister to Rhoda and Ann.
I have searched thru birth records in South Australia and the children of these three couples all seem to have been named after aunts/uncles so that is why i am assuming all Hunts and Bests are from the same families. Also in 1840 the population here in South Australia was around the 5,000 mark, so it has to be more than a coincidence. Can anyone confirm for me that three brothers married three sisters??
