You might check St. Croix Co., WI. In researching my Bessey family in Kenosha Co., WI I came across in 1860 in St. Croix the following family.John Raise, age 28 b. Ireland; Mary Raise, age 26, b. KY; Thomas Raise, age 2, b. WI Philip Bessey, age 41, b. NY, Amy Bessey, age 55 b. NY, and in the next household Oliver Bessey, age 13 b. NY. I didn't copy down the second household because I didn't see a connection. The names might fit with yours, however. Our family used the Bessee spelling, but records show it more commanly spelled Bessey
