Both Robert and Ruth were bpt. in the First Congregational Church of Wareham on April 18, 1742. On 15 Oct., 1752, this Wareham Church dismissed Robert, Ruth, and sons Jabez and Ephraim to Sharon, CT. However, they went to Crum Elbow, Dutchess Co.,NY. Robert bought land at Northeast town, Ephraim did the same; it seems doubtful that Jabez went with them for he married in
1754 @ Wareham, MA. Robert and Ruth had 7 known children: Tabitha, 1713; Mary, 1715-17; Ruth, 1719; Jabez, 1727, Ephraim, 1730; Phillip, c 1740; and Lemuel, c1738. “In Mar., 1748, J. Swift and J. Doty hired Robert Bese (sic) for 55 pounds to do their impressment.”
