Thank you for your reply. I am sure about the information on Samuel Brewer. Samuel Brewer was gggrandmother's brother. I have not been able to find anything about the men in the family after the Civil War. I know nothing about Helen Bessey. The information about them after the Civil War came from a post by a Rusty Brewer on another forum (ancestory.com). I answered that post but have not received an answer from Rusty. Thought I might be able to flush out some kind of information by making some posts of my own. Sorry I cannot tell you more. I do not know where or when they were in Canada. Rusty says that they had only one child--no more information on the child.
