Looking for information on the family of John and Lucy (BALDWIN) BESSEY. They were married by 1815, possibly in Montezuma, Cayuga Co., NY but no record has been found. From census records, history of Baldwin family and John's will the following children: Amanda, Marietta, Philip, Sarah Elizabeth, Lucy Maria b ca 1818 m. John WOODHOUSE 5 Mar 1844 in Racine Co., WI, Lydia m. 1)James PALMER before 1850 2) Ferdinand VANDERBECK on 11 Jun 1865 Kenosha Co., WI, John b. ca 1827 m. Clarissa OTTO, Charles Henry b. ca 1835, and Caroline Melissa b. 22 Oct 1837 m. 1)Truman FISH 2)Ebenezer H. HANCHETT 25 Feb 1858 in Geneva Walworth Co., WI. I think all the children were born in NY except Charles and Caroline and they were born in MI. Indications are that there were 2 other children, names unkown. Caroline is my ancestor. Would very much like to hear from others interested in this family.
