A biography of Joseph E. Bessette is included in "Progressive Men of the State of Montana". Parents: Charles and Sophia (Brassau) Bessette, natives of Quebec. On 12 Feb 1882, Fond du Lac, WI, Joseph married Miss Emma Bessette, daughter of J. Bessette. One child: Charles. After the death of Emma, Charles married Miss Esther Williams, native of Westville, IN, in 1892. Two children: Merle and Josephine.
