Hello all: This may be information that everybody already knows, but I shoe Robert A. Bessent, Sr. on the 1880 census for Wise County, Texas with wife Sarah C. and Several children including Robert A. Bessent, Jr.
I don't have proof, but it is probable that Robert Alexis Bessent, St. was a son of Peter G. Bessent and his first wife Mary Ann Frazer. Peter G. Bessent was a son of Abraham Bessent of St. Marys, Ga. Alexis is a very common name among Bessents. I have several of them in my records. Mr Gr-Grandfather was Matthew Alexis Bessent
