Gaytha, I found your posting at GenForum. Only two days ago, I received the Civil War pension records of Caswell and Elizabeth C. (Beshears) Mills. Among some of the documents, Elizabeth in some of her depositions mentions a brother, James A. Beshears as living near Forsyth, Taney Co., MO. He was a Baptist preacher. His wife was Milley Francis Beshears. The last Elizabeth heard of this sister-in-law, she was living near Boonville, Jackson Co., MO. Also Elizabeth states that all her brothers were dead and that she had no sisters. She mentions her mother, Patty,(I think that is the name, you know how difficult it is to read some of the old writing.) She says she had two 2nd cousins, a William Beshears of Madisonville, Pike Co., MO. and Anderson Beshears & family, also of Madisonville, MO. Caswell and Elizabeth (Beshears) Mills were the great grandparents of my husband, James Mills. The family lived in Dade County, Missouri until about 1889 when they left and moved into Hopkins Co., TX. If you have other information on the family I would like to hear from you. I will gladly exchange information. You may reach me at jmills@3lefties.com Dolly Mills 949 S.R. 77 Clovis, NM 88101 Notify Administrator about this message?
