Hi Larry, I recently spent some time in Lake Charles and while there visited with Archie Bewick who lives in Johnson's Bayou, Cameron Parrish, LA. I did not think to ask Archie if he wold be interested in participating in your project but it might be worth pursuing.
My only contact is through his grandson Ivan Barentine. If you will send me your email address I will send you Ivans.
Also I found a Berwick cousin in Winnie, Texas. I'll send you his email also.
