Pierre Rene' Bertrand (1767-1805) was my 4th great-grandfather. He was born in France and died in Haiti. I'm having trouble going back from there. I have his father Simon Bertrand, mother Ann Trubert, his father John Bertrand and mother Charlotte de Jolie. It's kind of a stretch in years there, so I think I may be on a wrong track. On the other side of my family, John and Charlotte's daughter married Ewell and the line is firm on down from there. Does Pierre Rene' belong to the line back to John and Charlotte, or is he from another line? Can anyone help me? Thanks, Michael Mayberry
