This William Bertrand is the son of Jean Baptiste Bertrand who came to southern Ohio with the French Five Hundred. He was born around 1820, possibly the youngest of Jean's seven children which included: Jean Baptiste Bertrand Jr., Sophia, Julia, Felicity, Henry, Rosalie and then William.
William married Elizabeth Pettit on January 1, 1846 in Scioto County, Ohio. She was born about 1825 in Kentucky. She had a sister Mary and believe her mother's name is Nancy.
This couple had two daughters: Mary Anne born 1846 and Sarah Alice born 1848. Both are believed to have married and remained in Ohio. Possible married names are Vrooman and Ross.
Have a lot of information on the original ancestor to come from France in 1790 and would like to fill in more descendants.
