Found out last year, at the age of 61yrs. that I was adopted. Birth name on adoption papers say MARLENE SALLY BERTRANDT. Nothing comes up in genealogy searches under Bertrandt, but BERTRAND does pop up. I was born April 17, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan. Understand that my birth mother(Lorette) was married, had 6 children & living in Canada (Ontario I think) she left her husband & 6 children and came to the States. Moved in with her mother (Louise). Not sure what yr. this all happened in. But was told that Jacqueline was born first (1938/1939) not sure. Then I was born in 1940. She gave me up to her very close friend (also from Canada) but living in Detroit,Michigan (Gail (Mickey) Casey) to raise me as her own. However, I was never really legally adopted until 1949 when Gail (Mickey) Casey remarried to a Bernie (Jack) Diggs. They were married in 1946 and adoption became final & my name legally was changed from MARLENE SALLY BERTRANDT to Marlene Sally Diggs.
Looking for ANYONE who may know any of these people, or even THINK they may know them or of the story I just told.
