Hello,
I have been working some time on a book which focuses on the Pitre family of Southwestern Louisiana, specifically Francois Pitre/Marie Josephe Thibodeaux and their descendants.
Since the Bertrand family and the Pitre family have intermarried extensively, I was hoping that someone here might have some information that could be relevant to me.
1. Pitres of Color. I am interested in obtaining information on this topic
2. Old stories and tales about Pitres from the Opelousas, Plaisance area. If you know of any, or know of someone whom you think I should speak to, please get in touch with me.
3. Photos of Pitres circa late 1800s, early 1900s. I'm looking for quality digital scans, or even do the scanning myself, owner willing.
Keep in mind that this is only applies to Pitres from the prairie areas of Southwest Louisiana.
