Hi Kate, I'm interested in the info you have about Jean Baptiste b. France and William L. Bertrand. I have a Louis Bertrand who located in Lewes, De and a Gustave or Gustavis Bertrand and Marshall. I have a Marshall Bertrand who lived with grandfather William (M or N) Bertrand, Marshall's Uncle (according to newspaper clipping) was General Eugene (Possibbly Jean?) Bertrand in Napoleon's army. Also have newspaper clipping of Captain Louis Bertrand whose grandfather (no name given) came to America with Jerome Bonaparte. There may be some connection.
