Samuel's parents were Guilliam Bertholf and Rachel Bertholf. They were first cousins. Their fathers were brothers, sons of the Rev. Bertholf (1656-1726). Samuel is my 5xGreat Grandfather through my paternal Grandmother's maternial line. Her maternial Grandmother was Emma Jane Bertholf (1835-1914). I have charts of this line. If you are interested let me know. Emma Jane Bertholf's mother was Leah Ackerman. That is why I'm interested in the Ackerman name.
