Thanks for your response to my inquiry on
Stephen Bartholf....indeed remarkable that
your son was given the same name. I will
indeed correspond with your sister to "beg"
her assistance. No, I am not related to Mr.
Bartholf. However, a year ago I had begun
a project to identify each Civil War veteran
who had lived in Worth County, IA before or
after the war. Once these men were identified
I became interested in learning about their
lives including their origins, as well as the
role their regiments played in the war. Absolutely fascinating project!
