Newton (died 1697) of Analby, near Hull, Yorkshire, England, "Master Mariner", who first settled in Maryland
and came into Westmoreland County, Virginia as early as 1677, and his fourth wife, Rose, widow of John
Tucker and Thomas Gerrard. Mrs. Rose Tucker-Gerrard-Newton died in 1712. John Newton was son of
Thomas Newton of Hull, Yorkshire, England.
