Can someone tell me anything about Virginia native Gerard B. Berryman, 50 years old in Wayne County, Missouri, in the 1850 census of St. Francois Township? Since his name is probably exactly the same as Virginia native Gerald Blackstone Berryman's (born 1761), I suspect they were related in some fashion. The census says Gerard was a farmer. Wayne County is immediately south of Iron County where Methodist preacher Jerome C. Berryman founded a school and where my Gerard resided in 1860. Gerard had a son, Thomas G. Berryman, who died in Wayne County in 1899. He was born about 1834 in Missouri. Any help will be appreciated. Cletis in Missouri.
