Ken, thank you so much for all the info! It sounds like this is the right D W Berryhill. My mother-in-law gave me a book prepared by Eugene Woodby that has the Berryhill family listed from D.W. down to my husband's generation ca. 1990. He frequently cites "Posey Downs" and a book entitled "The Captain Benjamin Newton-William Downs and Other Lineage History" by Posey E. Downs. I am going today to try to check it out at the library. If you would like any of the information from the book, I'd be happy to send it to you. I am new to this stuff! I input most of the information in "Family Tree Detective" and it has exportable GEDCOM features. I could send that if you'd like, but I can't be sure of its accuracy as I have not proofread and may not have input all information correctly. Let me know if you need something!
