Mary Liz, thank you so much for the wonderful information! Someone sent me the info that Elizabeth Derrisaw was my ancestor, that was married to John Berryhill, and that there is a will by Daniel? Durouzeau? in Georgia (1754?) naming his children, one of them being Elizabeth, and that his wife, Olive, went back to her people in the Creek Nation. I have since lost this information, and hope to replace it. Please take a look at my book, now online at

that I published in 1975 and am now updating
(online)

My ancestors, Eliza Berryhill, daughter of Thomas Berryhill, granddaughter of John Berryhill (I think) married Benjamin Posey. They are on the Creek rolls in 1832 near the present-day town of Fredonia, Chambers COunty, Alabama. They married in Pike County, Georgia in 1824-25. Their, oldest daughter, Sarah Ann Posey, married Silas H. Barber.
