Bradley BERRY of Albemarle Co., VA
My niece has proven that the Bradley BERRY of Albemarle Co., VA (d. 1794) was NOT the Bradley BERRY, drummer, of the Rev. War as I had previously written.
The Bradley BERRY, drummer, was the son of a Thomas BERRY, and that Bradley BERRY died in PA during the Rev. War.His father was reimbursed for what he paid to have his body taken back to VA.
The Bradley BERRY of Albemarle Co., VA (d. 1794) could be claimed as a Rev. War Patriot and descendants are eligible to join the DAR because, he was
"issued a certificate on Sept. 18, 1780 for one bullock impressed by the Commissioner of Provisions under the Act for Procuring a Supply of Provisions and Other Necessaries for the Use of the Army, May,1780"
Reference for the above was given in the DAR Application #575178 submitted in 1973 and approved in 1974 as:
"Public Service Claims of Albemarle County, Va. in Virginia State LibraryClaim # 93 dated Sept. 18, 1780 - 1 Bullock Price 165..0..0"
