Bradley BERRY - Albemarle Co., VA
Bradley BERRY who died in 1794 in Albemarle Co., VA served in the Rev. War as a drummer and fifer. His pay vouchers showing his Regiment are on a series films of the cardsmade from the original Company Muster and Pay Rolls in the National Archives. The Family History Library (Mormon) has all of these films and I found Bradley's cards on FHL Film #1486252.Here is the "gist" of Bradley's information.
He enlisted in Capt. John Brent's Company of the 4th VA Regt. of Foot on 13 Feb 1776 for two years.
He served under several different Captains---John Brent,Thomas Elliott, Robert Lawson and Jason Riddick as adrummer and fifer and was paid at various places from April 1777 through April 1778.It appears that he was discharged at Valley Forge (PA) because of illness at the latter date.
According to other records, the 4th VA Regiment was accepted by Congress on 13 Feb 1776 and about half of the companies were raised in southside VA.It joined Washington's armylate in 1776 and participated in the battles of Trenton and Germantown.
Not all vouchers give the place where he was paid, so only those vouchers which give a place will be given here although it appears that he served continuously during the above period.

Two other BERRY men also served in the same Regiment (4th):
George BERRY, private in the 4th Regt. of Foot - served under a different Captain from Bradley BERRY, but in the unit commanded by Capt. Thomas Elliott - enlistedon 13 Mar 1776 for two years - he died 31 Dec 1777 according to his last pay voucher, but it doesn't say "where".
William BERRY, corporal in the 4th Regt. of Foot commanded by the same Captains as Bradley BERRY - enlisted on 8 Feb 1776 for two years - discharged in February 1778.
Could the above two men have been related in some way to Bradley BERRY?????
