After seeing the size of these ships first hand,I doubt if anyone could be a stowaway....they were frighteningly small, and one wonders how anyone had to courage to cross the atlantic in one!Finding anywhere to hide would be almost animpossibility...Other possibilities are, of course, either an orphan ship, or a shipload of stolen children. I know of several ships in the 1600s that were filled with London orphans and taken to Va and sold...these were apparently children without families that lived on the streets of London.Other ships carried children who were simply picked up around the docks and transported to the New World, for sale as indentured servants.....hard times for all, but especially for the women and children.
