I know this is an old post, but hopefully people are still reading this forum.
I am trying to make a connection between the Berry name and Gambrel name.
Item #1Polly Gambrill Berry married William Bratton and was living in Montgomery County IN for the 1850 Census
Item #2Mary Gambell Berry married John Bratton who was living in Montgomery County IN for the 1850 Census, although Mary died in 1848.
John Bratton and William Bratton were brothers.
Mary Gambell Berry and Polly Gambrill Berry were 1st cousins
Item #3David Doak Berry (brother to Polly) was living next door (at least on the next line of the census enumeration) to Edward Gambrel in 1850 in Montgomery County IN.
Item #4Anthony Berry died in Orange Co VA in 1817 (at least that is when his will was recorded). The executor of his Will was Walter Gambrel.Anthony Berry left property to a nephew in Augusta County
I recall seeing somewhere, that David Doak Berry lived in Union Co IN, before moving to Montgomery Co IN.Edward Gambrel also lived in Union Co before moving to Montgomery Co.
Where did the girls get their middle names?
I am trying to establish whether the Gambrels were in Augusta/Rockbridge/Bath County vicinity prior to 1805.
