Will of Capt Francis Berry, 1819
Last will & testament of Francis Berry:"I, Francis Berry of Union County Kentucky being weak in body but sound of mind do make this my last will and testamentTo my son, Francis Berry, I give 50 acres of land out of the tract on which I know live to to be marked off adjoining the tract on which my son William now lives to my daughter Susannah Harris I give a young negro boy child by the name of Peter the balance of my property consisting of the balance of the land on which I live with negros, horses, cattle, hogs, sheep, farming valuables, household and kitchen furniture of every description I give to my three daughters, Nancy Huston, Isabella, and Judith Berry to be equally divided amongst them.To my other children, Joseph George Berry, Rebecca Haynes, and Molly Riddle, I have nothing more to give save what I have already given and I do constitute and appoint my son William Berry and John Harris Executers to this my last will and testament given under my hand and seal this 9th day of Nov. 1819. At a County Court began and held for Union County on Monday the 20th day of December 1819 This last will and testament of Francis Berry deceased was produced in court and proven to the court and death by the said descedent by the oath of Rubin Berry and Thornly Berry two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and was by the court ordered to be recorded and on the motion of William Berry the Executor thru warrant his having made oath and with Rubin Berry and Thornly Berry has security ...... and acknowledged bonds in the penalty of three thousand dollars conditioned as the Law directs a certificate granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form of Law and have requested John Harris the other Executor to join in the probate thereof and thru ..... when he may think fit.
