Berry marriage, 1815, Tuam, Co Galway, Ireland

Catherine Berry married Richard Allen in 1815 in Tuam, Co Galway, Ireland. One of hteir children was born there in 1817 and married there in 1837. Marriage record pointedly says that Richard "comes from Tuam", meaning that Catherine Berry did not.

I don't think Berry is a dreadfully common name. I want to trace her origins.

They were Church of Ireland, meaning Anglican (Church of England). Protestant. American equivalent is Episcopal.

Our family records state that the father of Catherine Allen (who married Nathaniel Lowe in Tuam in 1837), the daughter of Richard adn Catherine Allen, was quite respectable and owned lands and rights on the coast of Galway. Family may have stood out.

Thanks!

Yours,
Dora Smith
