There is a small General Baptist Church near Zalma, Missouri named Berrong Chapel with a church cemetary beside it where my family is buried. My great-grandfather was Thomas Berrong. My grandfather Noah was a Bapt. preacher for ahsort while at the church. As far as history of the family goes, Verna Berrong a very distant cousin (now deceased) from the Ft. Worth area, had done research and found that the clan descended from two brothers kidnapped from the vineyard in France and brought to America. When the brothers were released one returned to France, but one stayed and is the "father" of the Berrong clan. Supposedly there is a family connection to Mary Queen of Scots.
