I have just discovered this site. I am looking for information on Leonard Budd Berrien, b. Yorkville, Oneida, NY, 25 April 1846. He moved with his parents Cornelius (b. 21 Oct 1819, NY, d. 30 May 1892, Clinton, IA) and Sarah Budd (b.
4 Nov 1823, d. 5 Apr 1904, Clinton, IA) to Clinton, IA in 1860 or 61. Leonard m. Harriet May Smith 2 Dec 1872. Leonard descended from Cornelius Jansen Berrien through Peter b. 1672, Cornelius b. 1707, Cornelius b. 1734 m. Elizabeth Penfold (Penfield), Richard Penfold b. 5 Oct 1779, m. Elizabeth Venderbeck, Richard Penfold b. 1798-99 m. Jane Miner, Cornelius b. 21 Oct 1819, m. Sarah Budd. Leonard is my great grandfather. I know he married Harriet May Smith (b. England) 2 Dec 1872, Knoxville, Knox, IL. He d. 26 Nov 1895 and is buried at the Riverside Cemetery, Moline, Rock Island County, IL. Supposedly he was an inventor, teacher, and manufacturer of farm equipment. I am trying to find out when he moved from Clinton, IA to IL, probably to Moline. I believe Leonard's siblings are: Laura b. 1850, Cornelius b. 1852, John b. 1855, Eli Budd b. 1857, Mathilda b. 1860, Caroline b. 1862, Francis b. 1869, and Emma Cotheil (I don't have a birth date). Any information would be appreciated!
