Walter Berien/Berrien m. 12 Jan 1790 to Charity Simpson in Charles County, Maryland.
My gg-grandfather, Regnal Butt, named one of his sons Francis Berrien Butt. Regnal was also b. ca 1794 in Maryland. I imagine that Regnal gave his son the middle name of Berrien because of a close association with the family of that surname.
The only Butt family that I know of who lived in Charles County about this time was John Butt and his son, Clement Butt.
As a means of possibly finding a clue or link to my ancestor's family, I would like to know more of the Berriens who lived in or near Charles County, Maryland.
