According to her death record at Vermont Public Records, Priscilla Barney's parents were Louis Barney and Margaret Lavigne. I have searched for a marriage record for those two, however, and have come up empty. I theorize a brother-sister relationship between her and my gggrandfather Louis Barney, who lived just a few doors from Priscilla and her husband in 1870 in Westfield. I have not been able to connect my gggrandfather Louis Barney/Bernier to his parents in Canada, either. He was supposedly born (1818-1827?) at St. Johns, Canada, and married Josephine Courtemanche/Shortsleeves c. 1848/9, showing up in northern Vermont in 1850. I have likewise not been able to find their marriage record.
