My grandfather, Benoit Eugene Bernier was born 21 March, 1881 at St. Eugene, L'Islet Co., Quebec. He was the son of Joseph Bernier and his first wife, Emilie Poitras. He was the third child, having two older brothers, Pierre and Gustave. His mother died when he was around 18 and his father remarried to Emertienne Dube and raised a second family.

He moved to Michigan with his Uncle Napoleon Bernier and raised his family in Delta Co., MI.

I would love to hear from anyone with connections to the family in St. Eugene. I have a group picture and would like to find someone who can help identify family members. One problem: I do not read or speak French

I have the family tree back to Jean de Paris in 1656 and will gladly share.
