This is additional information regarding Zoe Morissette and Edouard Bernier who were married in St. Pie-de-Bagot,Quebec in 1842. We are wishing to locate the descendants of this couple because they had at least one son, Joseph Alfred Athanase Bernier. He was the first parish priest in Oak Lake, Man. Father Bernier was born to Edouard and Zoe on May 02, 1857 in St. Pie-de-Bagot, Quebec. He passed away in Oak Lake on May 04, 1893 at the age of 36. The Roman Catholic church has been closed for seven years. With much regret the church is being sold. Father Bernier was buried underneath the church and his body must be exhumed. The Manitoba government is asking us to try and locate any living relatives prior to the exhumation and relocation of his body in Oak Lake cemetery.
